If you have a pool in your backyard you are bound to have pool fence that complies with Australian Standard AS 1926.1 latest edition 2012. It is utmost important for your kids safety as every year kids drown due to parents negligence. Therefore safety always comes first. So what you need to do to have pool fence around your pool and that is what we are going to discuss about in this article that you understand fencing regulations even though it is not possible to cover every permutation of the pool fence layout and the design so that is why it is important to show you abbreviated guidelines to show you the key aspect of the regulations. However you will require a qualified certifier to ensure compliance of your pool fence.
Quality of products you buy:
First of all I would like to specify few points what you should be looking for when you decide to buy pool fence from a supplier or even a contractor comes and install pool fence for you.
(1) Ask for pool fence compliance certificate when buying pool fence. This compliance should be as per Australian Standards 1926.1 latest edition 2012. (2007 edition is an old edition and not applicable any more). Ask for certificate for your record and to show it to the appropriate authorities concerned.
(2) Make sure the pool fence is 1200 mm high and is made of Aluminium but not steel as pool fence in steel intend to corrode within 2-3 months due to salty water conditions. 1200mm in height of pool fence is the measurement that is taken from any point deemed ground level.
(3) Make sure you buy material that is not only comply with Australian Standard but you also need to check some companies may get their panels checked but all other stuff such as gates, posts, locks and hinges.
(4) What should you be checking other than the panels in the pool fence is the posts are at least 50x50x 2mm thick, Latch and hinges have life time warranty, Gate is fully mitres and is made of thick material. Brackets are of good quality but not simple L brackets.
(5) Powder coating on panels should be at least 80 micron and shall take at least 7 years guarantee on painting otherwise the paint starts peeling off if not properly treated the material before powder coating. Each Aluminium panel and other aluminium products must be Chromate converted before powder coating.
(6) We do not recommend you to buy any pool fence from any backyard manufacturers as there could be many short cuts applied to keep prices down and supply to you sub-standard products. Also there is no assurance that these backyard manufacturers are there next time you go there for any noncompliance items. Poor man always buys twice same products.
Pool fence installation rules
(1) Inspect the area first from outside of the pool fence, watch out for rocks, window opening and sills and other surfaces that are easily stood upon, as these items will reduce the minimum effective height of your fence.
Anything foothold can reduce the effective height of the pool fence area – such as a tap, tree branch, pot plant or even neighbor side horizontal fence rail – that a child can use to gain access into the pool area. It is by law footholds must be at least 10mm in width to be a concern.
There should be no Climbable objects permitted within 900mm radius from the top of the pool fence. Climbable objects such as flower pots, chairs, tree branches, Neighbour fence, ladders, bricks, retaining walls, veranda, deck, window sills. However climbable objects are permitted within the upper 900mm radius quadrant of the non-climbable zone provided it is not reasonably possible for a young child to gain access to those climbable objects. There should not be any climbable rails attached to the fence as a part of fence design.
In case foothold and fence positions are colliding with each other than in that case you can make use of solutions including: Perspex shields or such barriers against the climbable foothold so it becomes a non-climbable zone. A typical example is if you start a fence from an existing batten fence which has gaps more than 10mm gaps and are considered as climbable points then the batten area should be covered up with Perspex or plywood up to 1m from the fence so that no child can make use of foothold of the batten fence.
If you are starting your pool fence from the corner of the garage please make sure additional area must be clear of objects (e.g. tree branches, decks, stairs etc.) that would reduce the minimum effective fence height of 1200mm.
Clear are (300mm). No nearby horizontal surfaces which could be used as holds for the climbing this area if fence uprights are more than 100mm apart. Ideal gap between the uprights is 70mm.
You can use walls as part of the fence provided that doors and windows have self-locking or -latching devices. Wall surfaces should not be climbable.
It is a good practice to use existing boundary fence to reduce the cost of pool fence. If so, the same regulations as above will apply to your neighbour’s fence.
Simply ensure that the boundary fence is 1800mm high and has no footholds on the pool side 900mm from the top.
All Pool Gates are required to open outwards from the pool area.
All gates must close automatically from any position. All hinges used for pool areas are adjustable hinges.
For every single gate latches should be at least 1500mm from the ground. However for glass gates this includes 1200mm (the height of the panel) and 300mm(return on back side of the panel). Ensure the gap on the latch side of the gate is no more than 10mm.
CPR Sign: It is highly recommended that a CPR chart should be attached to the fence or close to fence so that its visible to everyone.

Scrap packing materials (plastic, cardboard, polystyrene etc.) according to the provisions set out by current standards. Keep nylon or polystyrene bags out of children’s reach.

Do not install the product in explosive atmosphere.
The factory declines all responsibility for any consequences resulting from failure to observe Good Technical Practice when constructing closing structures (door, gates etc.), as well as from any deformation which might occur during use.
Disconnect the electrical power supply before carrying out any work on the installation. Also disconnect any buffer batteries, if fitted.
Fit an omnipolar or magnetothermal switch on the mains power supply, having a contact opening distance equal to or greater than 3,5 mm.
Make sure a residual current circuit breaker with a 30mA threshold is fitted before the power supply mains.
Check that earthing is carried out correctly: connect all metal parts for closure (doors, gates etc.) and all system components provided with an earth terminal.
Fit all the safety devices (photocells, electric edges etc.) which are needed to protect the area from any danger caused by squashing, conveying and shearing.
Position at least one visible indication device (Alarm lamp), and fix a Warning sign to the structure.
The factory declines all responsibility with respect to the automation safety and correct operation when other supplier’s components are used.
Only use original parts for any maintenance or repair operation.
Do not modify the automation components, unless explicitly authorized by the factory.
Instruct the product user about the control systems provided and the manual opening operation in case of emergency.
Do not allow persons or children to remain in the automation operation area.
Keep radio control or other control devices out of children’s reach, in order to avoid unintentional automation activation.
The user must avoid any attempt to carry out work or repair on the automation system, and always request the assistance of qualified personnel.
Anything which is not expressly provided for in the present instructions is not allowed.
Before installing the gate opener, check that all moving part as well as the sliding gate is in good mechanical condition, correctly balanced and opens and closes properly.

Preparation for Installation
Before proceeding to your opener installation, check if your gate structure is in accordance with the current standards, especially as follows:
The gate sliding track is linear and horizontal. The wheels are suitable for use. The gate should be mounted and moved freely. Check that the structure is sufficiently strong and rigid, and that its dimensions and weights conform to those listed in the specifications table of this document. Make sure that the gate is plumb and level. The fence posts must be mounted in concrete. The gate does not bind or drag on the ground.
The gate manual operation can be carried out smoothly along its entire run, and there is no excessive side slipping.
The opening and closing gate stops are positioned.
WARNING: Remember that control devices are intended to facilitate gate operation, but can not solve problems due to any defects or deficiency resulting from failure to carry out correct installation or maintenance. Take the product out of its packing and inspect it for damage. Should it be damaged, contact your dealer. Remember to dispose of its components (cardboard, polystyrene, nylon, etc.) according to the current prescriptions.
In sake of safety, a positive stop must be mounted on the two end of ground track.

Installation of the Opener
*Be sure that the opener is installed in a horizontal and paralleled position and is properly secured. Improper installation could result in property damage, severe injury, and/or death.
* Before starting installation, ensure that there is no point of friction during the entire movement of the gate and there is no danger of derailment.
* Ensure that the Warning Signs are present.
Necessary Tools: The following tools may be necessary to install the Gate opener. You will need screwdrivers, an electric drill, wire cutters and a wire stripper, a socket set, and possibly access to a welder.
When install the opener, you should build a concrete pad to support the base plate of opener in order to maintain proper stability.
The installation proceeds are as follows:
1.Dig a hole for a concrete pad which should be approximately 600 x 320 x 350mm (24〞x 13〞x 14〞). It may protrude 100mm (4”) above ground and 250mm (10”) in depth underground. Increase the pad height if necessary to protect the system from flooding, heavy snow etc.
Prepare one or more conduits for the electrical cables before pouring concrete. Remember that cable conduits have to pass through the hole in the base plate.
Pour concrete and before it starts to harden, check that it is parallel to the gate leaf and perfectly level.
The four anchor bolts must be set into the concrete when it is poured, make sure the position of anchor bolts was placed according to the position of mounting holes on the base plate before concrete become harden.
Mount the base plate to the concrete pad.
Place the opener onto base plate. Check that it is perfectly parallel to the gate, and then screw the four bolts and washers supplied. It’s only temporary installation. Further adjustment will be required when install the rack.
The opener should be put in the manual (emergency release) position before fitting the rack, installing the opener and limit switch. The process is as follows:
1) Take off the rubber stopple.
2) Insert the Release Key（provided）and turn it in counter-clockwise 180° to disengage the clutch between the gear shaft and power output. Now the opener is in the manual operation.
Fit the Rack
There are two kinds of rack available as per your options, which are steel reinforced plastic rack and galvanized steel rack. The galvanized steel rack is usually used for the heavy duty gate.
Fit the plastic rack reinforced with steel
Start with gate in closed position
There are four sections of plastic rack which is one meter length, each section for standard package. (you can order extra rack from dealer if necessary)
Put one end of rack section on the gear of opener as a temporary support.
Make rack level and mark the rack’s mounting holes (four holes for light duty or six holes for heavy duty) on the gate.
Fit the rack by self-threading screws. This kind of plastic rack is quieter and allows height adjustments to be made even after it has been fixed. Please keep 1.0mm space between the rack and the gear to avoid the weight of the gate effect on the opener.
Fit the galvanized steel rack
Start with gate in closed position
There are four sections of steel rack which is one meter length, each section for standard package. (you can order extra rack from dealer if necessary)
Put one end of rack section on the gear of opener as a temporary support.
Make rack level and mark the rack’s mounting holes (three holes) on the gate.
Weld the rack nut on the gate as mark and connect the rack to the gate using the bolt provided. Before weld, please keep 1.0mm space between the rack and the gear to avoid the weight of the gate effect on the opener.
Check that the rack teeth must engage the gear teeth throughout their full thickness. If not, adjust the position of the opener or/and place a few shims between the rack and gate.
Manually slide the gate leaf to ensure the rack is proper on the gear of opener, weld the second nut.
Repeat same steps of first rack section to install the rest rack sections until proper length is reached.
Cut away any excess of the rack (Note: rack length must be longer than actual travel of the gate)
Thoroughly fasten the four nuts as well as spring washers onto anchor bolts tightly, enabling the opener is firmly secured on the concrete pad during the whole gate travel.
Installation of Magnets for Limit Switches
Before install limit switch, make sure the gate opener is put in manual operation. (the clutch connected with gear shaft is disengaged) and the mains power supply is disconnected.
Position the two Magnet Components approximately on the gate and move the gate by hand to fix them in place.
Fit magnets bracket
Push the gate fully closed by hand. Locate and install the magnet bracket so that the opener will stop at the desired close position when the close limit switch approaches it.
Push the gate fully open by hand. Locate and install the magnet bracket so that the opener will stop at the desired open position when the open limit switch approaches it.
The magnet component with N pole outside must be installed at left side and the magnet component with S pole outside must be installed at right side from the view inside of property.
Finally adjust the magnet to the proper position by moving the gate with the motor. The magnet should be less than 1“ away from the magnetic limit switch. If it is too far away, the switch will fail to work. The distance between the magnet and the opener should be 0.39” – 0.59” with the opener cover on. Adjust the position of the magnet until the positions of the opening and closing meet the requirement.
Connecting Of Power Supply
The power supply cord should be at least 3×0.75mm2.
Connect the live wire, neutral wire and earth wire to the “L”,
“N” and “PE” terminal respectively. It is strongly recommended
that an emergency stop switch is installed in the electrical
system which can be used in case of the remote control failure.
You can connect the switch by the following steps:
Cut off the wire which has been connected between terminal
4 and 5 in factory to deactivate the existed short circuit of
terminal 4 and 5.
Solder the two wires to the terminals of the switch respectively.
NOTE: The power supply cord is not included in the package.
NOTE: Make sure a residual current circuit breaker with a 30mA
threshold is fitted before the power supply mains.
NOTE: The protection class of the emergency stop switch should be at least IP44.
Connecting Of The Control Board
The YELLOW wire of the motor should be connected into the “1” terminal.
The RED wire of the motor should be connected into the “2” terminal.
The YELLOW wire of the limit switches should be connected into the “3” terminal.
The BLACK wire of the limit switches should be connected into the “4” terminal.
The RED wire of the limit switches should be connected into the “5” terminal.
Alarm Lamp (24VDC)
The WHITE wire of the alarm lamp should be connected into the “6” terminal.
The RED wire of the alarm lamp should be connected into the “7” terminal.
Use a 2-core cable to connect the “- ~” terminal of the photocell’s emitter to the “16” terminal, the “+ ~” terminal to the “17” terminal. Also the “- ~” and “+ ~” terminals of the photocell’s receiver should be connected to the “16” and “17” terminals in parallel.
Use another 2-core cable to connect the “OUT” terminal of the receiver to the “8” terminal, the “COM” terminal to the “9” terminal.
The push button should be wired to the “10” and “11” terminals. The gate opener works alternately by pushing the button (open-stop-close-stop-open).
First insert the LOOP DETECTOR BOARD into the CONTROL BOARD, and then connect the twisted-pair to the “14” and “15” terminals.
The BROWN wire of the external receiver should be connected into the “10” terminal.
The BLACK wire of the external receiver should be connected into the “16” terminal.
The RED wire of the external receiver should be connected into the “17” terminal.
Wired Keypad (24VDC)
The RED wire of the wired keypad should be connected into the “17” terminal.
The BLACK wire of the wired keypad should be connected into the “16” terminal.
The BLUE wire of the wired keypad should be connected into the “10” terminal.
The WHITE wire of the wired keypad should be connected into the “11” terminal.
The negative terminal of the battery should be wired to the “18” terminal.
The positive terminal of the battery should be wired to the “19” terminal.
Recommend strongly to use the controller LM118 (WA4004）to connect Battery with battery’s Terminal of control board if the battery is used as the primary power supply in system (such as SOL PLUS KIT). Please refer to the user manual of control LM118（WA4004）separately.

Setting Of The Control Board
WARNING: Keep away from the gate during you set the gate opener system in case of the unexpected gate moving. Carefully adjust the DIP switches to avoid the risk of machine damage and injury or death. Always ask the help of professional technician /electrician if you have any question.
The DIP switches are used to set the running time of the
motor in pedestrian mode, fine adjust the soft stop period
of the motor, auto close time of the gate opener and
fast change the open/close direction which is
determined by the position of the gate opener installed.
DIP Switch #1–#2: Running time of the motor in Midway Mode
DIP Switch #1: ON – 2 Seconds OFF – 0
DIP Switch #2: ON – 4 Seconds OFF – 0
NOTE: The midway mode function would be disabled if both DIP switches are turned off. Factory default setting is disabled.
DIP Switch #3–#5: Fine adjust the soft stop period of the motor
DIP Switch #3: ON – 1 Second OFF – 0
DIP Switch #4: ON – 2 Seconds OFF – 0
DIP Switch #5: ON – 3 Seconds OFF – 0
NOTE: Every time you restart the gate opener after power off, you should use the access control device (such as remote, push button and etc.) to operate the gate opener to run for a complete opening cycle and a complete closing cycle to get the full opening time and the full closing time. You would achieve the soft stop in your next opening/closing cycle. Factory default soft stop time is 3 Second. You can turn the DIP switches on/off to fine adjust the soft stop time to meet your actual needs.
DIP Switch #6–#7: Auto close time of the gate opener
DIP Switch #6: ON – 30 Seconds OFF – 0
DIP Switch #7: ON – 60 Seconds OFF – 0
NOTE: The auto close function would be disabled if both DIP switches are turned to off (factory default setting).
DIP Switch #8: Left/Right open
Potentiometer A and B are used to adjust the stall force of the gate opener. Both two potentiometers of factory default force have been set to at 15:00 o’clock.
Turn the potentiometer clockwise to increase the stall force.
Turn the potentiometer counter-clockwise to decrease the stall force.
Test the reversing sensitivity
For the sake of safety, it is very important to test the reversing sensitivity as soon as the control board set is finished.
The reversing sensitivity adjustment is inverse correlation with stall force adjustment in potentiometer A and B. In other word, the stall force level is higher; the reversing sensitivity level is lower.
Put an immobile object along the gate path, and then operate the gate to strike it during the open and close cycles. The gate must reverse as soon as object is struck with it. If the gate doesn’t reverse, please increase the reversing sensitivity by turning the potentiometer in counter-clockwise direction. (Turning the stall force potentiometer toward to MIN position to increase the reversing sensitivity)
Note 1: If the sensitivity setting is too higher, the gate will stop or reverses very easy by itself while there is little obstruction or resistance such as strong wind or heavy snow sometimes.
Note 2: Always check the gate reversing function every each time of control board set or restart after power off.
How to learn or erase the remote
Learn the remote
Press and release the learn button, the REMLED
light will be on, then press the key in the remote twice
in 2 seconds, the REM LED light will flash for 4
seconds. Now the remote has been learnt successfully.
Erase all the remote codes
Press and hold the learn button until the REMLED light is off. Now all remote codes have been erased.
How to use the remote to control the opener
Key A is used to operate the opener to work alternately (open-stop-close-stop-open).
When the Pedestrian Mode function is enabled, Key B is used to achieve the Pedestrian Mode function (open the gate for the pre-setting time). When the Pedestrian Mode function is disabled, the opener works alternately (open-stop-close-stop-open) by pressing Key B.
Have a multimeter to check voltage and continuity. Use caution when checking high voltage terminals.
The opener does not run. Power LED is OFF.
Make sure that the power cord is properly plugged into the mains outlet.
Check if the output voltage of the transformer is 24VAC. If the voltage measures 0, the transformer may be overheated or damaged. Turn power off and allow board to cool for several minutes then reset. Replace the transformer if the symptom still exists.
Check the fuse in the control board. Replace the fuse if it was burnt out.
Check the control board. Replace the control board if necessary.
The opener does not run. Power LED is ON.
Check to be sure the beam is not blocked if a photocell is used as a secondary entrapment prevention device. If a photocell is not used, terminal 8 should be shorted with terminal 9 by a jumper wire.
Check the motor. Release the clutch then disconnect the wires of the motor from terminal 1 and 2. Connect the wires to the terminal 16 and 17 directly, the motor should run, and then exchange the wires, the motor should run in the opposite direction. If the motor runs in both directions, please check the other parts listed below.
Check the limit switches. Use a jumper wire to short terminal 4 with terminal 3 and 5, and then use a keying device to operate the opener, replace the higher limit switch if the motor couldn’t run in clockwise direction, and replace the lower limit switch if the motor couldn’t run in counter-clockwise direction.
Replace the control board if the motor runs in all steps above.
Remote control does not work.
The indicator light of remote control is not on. Check the battery in your remote control. Replace the battery if necessary.
The distance you use the remote is too far away from the opener. Try it again closer.
Remote control is not suitable for receiver. After making sure the codes are correct, erase remote controls and then re-program the codes in the device.
Replace the control board.
The gate starts but it is immediately stop or reverse
Check that the clutch is adjusted properly and is not slipping.
The opening force or closing force is adjusted too small. Turn the Potentiometer A to increase the force.
Disconnect the gate from the gate opener and check that the gate slides freely without any binding.
Replace the control board.
The gate opens, but stops and will not return.
Please note the two magnet brackets (fixed plate) are different: one is higher and another is lower. Please try to exchange the two brackets position.
Please try to exchange the limit switch wires CL (close) and OP (open).
Maybe the magnet position was installed in the middle so it inducts both switches. Adjust the magnet higher or lower.
The gate can open, but fails to close.
Photocell is obstructed. Remove obstruction.
The limit switch is failed. Use a jumper wire to short terminal 4 with terminal 3 and 5, and then use a keying device to operate the opener, replace the higher limit switch if the motor couldn’t run in clockwise direction, and replace the lower limit switch if the motor couldn’t run in counter-clockwise direction.
Replace the control board.
Every six months check the following items for proper operation of the unit.
* Lubricate shafts and gears.
* Keep opener clean at all times.
* Check and tighten anchors bolts.
* Check for loose or corroded wire
* Ensure the opener is well earthed, and correctly terminated.
* Always check the Stop/Reverse in case of obstruction function when performing any maintenance. If this function can’t be made operable, remove this opener from service until the cause of the malfunction is identified and corrected.
The proper position of the post brackets is a decisive factor to the efficiency and leverage of the gate opener.
The distance (usually it is 25mm /1 inch or more) between the gate opener and the gate is also determined by
the proper position of the post brackets.
Both round and square post can be used because of the curved design of the post brackets. When mounting
the post brackets, use bolts long enough to pass through the entire post. When mounting the post brackets to
wooden posts, a larger-size washer or metal plate should be used between the bolts and the wooden post to
ensure the stability of the fastening hardware when thrust is used.
If the gate post is smaller than 15 cm (6”) diameter or square, it should be made of metal and set in cement to
ensure the stability of the post.
Determining the Position of Mounting Hardware
NOTE: The following steps are intended for Pull-to-Open gate installation only.
You will find a series of sizes from following chart to determine the proper mounting position
NOTE:Pay attention to the distance A when installing the opener. It MUST be longer than or at least equal to 8cm (3-1/4”). Otherwise, the opener force cannot be effective complete. The opener force is not notably related with the power of the opener.
Step 1Place the post pivot bracket between the two post brackets. Insert the M10 x 30 bolt through the center hole of the post bracket and post pivot bracket as shown. Place a ￠10 washer , ￠10 lock washer and M10 nut on the bottom of the bolt and hand tighten.
Attach the gate bracket and post bracket assembly to the opener by inserting a clevis pin. Secure the clevis pins using the hairpin clips.
With the gate in its desired open position (from 0° to 100° from the gate closed position) and with the opener in its retracted position, place the opener with the gate bracket and post bracket assembly on the gate post and the gate. Position the gate bracket and the post bracket assembly so that the gate opener is level with the horizontal cross member of the gate. While holding the opener in the desired level position, temporarily secure it with two C-clamps.
NOTE: There is an emergency release design. Use the release key to release the opener, you can stretch the moving rod or retract it by hand to pull or push the front mount assembly. Be sure that the openers are both locked before you prepare to activate your openers. Other information please refer to content in page 24.
Determine the optimum position of the pivot bracket on the post bracket assembly by ensuring a minimum 2.5cm (1 inch) distance exists between the gate and the gate opener in both the gate-open and gate-closed positions. To ensure the minimum 2.5cm (1 inch) distance maintained in the gate-closed position, remove the clevis pin from the gate bracket while holding the gate opener, and then close the gate. Move the gate opener so as the gate bracket and the opener are aligned.
NOTE: Ensure the gate opener and the pivot brackets do not bind in the gate –open and gate –closed positions.
If you don’t have enough distance, or the gate opener is binding on the post pivot bracket, you may move the post pivot bracket assembly slightly to the right or left to obtain the proper distance.
After you’ve identified the desired position of the pivot bracket, place the M8 x 30 bolt into the desired pivot on the post bracket.
Installing the Mounting Hardware
Sign the bolt-hole point on the gate bracket and gate. Do this by placing a punch or a sign in the middle of each bolt slot on the post bracket assemblies and the gate bracket. It allows slight adjustments to the post bracket. Then remove the post bracket and gate bracket by taking off the C-clamps.
Cut all parts of bolt which are extending beyond the tightened nuts by saw.
Installing of the Opener
Fasten the opener to the previously bolted post bracket assembly with the four clevis pins provided. Insert one clevis pin through the gate opener and the gate bracket. Insert the other clevis pin through the gate opener and the post bracket assembly. Secure the clevis pins with the two hairpin clips.
Mounting the Control Box
Step 1To install the control box use the deck screws (not provided).Ensure the control box is installed in a secure surface and at least 100 cm (40 inches) above the ground to protect it from rain, snow, etc. which probably cause damage to the control box.Warning: Before connecting the AC power cable to the control box, check the plug of power cable is disconnected from AC power socket.
Step 2Insert the power cable and cable of the first gate opener through the front strain relief and into the control box by loosening the strain relief screw located in the leftmost of outside bottom of the control box and feeding the cables into the control box. Check the length of cables is long enough to their respective terminal block in control box.Retighten the sealing nut so that cables are well locked.
CAUTION: Install the Control Box in a well ventilated place protected against rain and sunlight.
NOTE: It is strongly suggested that the control box should be mounted in the side of Master Gate (Gate 1), so that the electric lock can be installed correctly and work properly (See Page 9).
Insert the cable of the second gate opener and alarm lamp cables into the control box through middle strain relief. Then repeat step 2.
Insert other cables into the control box through rightmost strain relief. Then repeat step 2.
NOTE: Only motor cables (1.5m length) are provided. Other cables are subject to site installation requirement and not provided.
CAUTION: Make sure the cable outlet hole in the Control Box is always down during installation so as to drain off the water.
Connecting of the control board
Insert the stripped cable wires into the appropriate terminals on the opener terminals block. The red wire should be inserted into the “MOTOR1+” terminal, the black wire into “MOTOR1-“, the blue wire into ULT1, the green wire into COM, and the yellow wire into DLT1 terminal.Actuator 1
Similar as the connection of Actuator 1, insert the stripped cable wires into the appropriate terminals on the opener terminals block. The red wire should be inserted into the MOTOR2+ terminal, the black wire into MOTOR2-, the blue wire into ULT2, the green wire into COM, and the yellow wire into DLT2 terminal.
NOTE: It is recommended that Gate Opener 1 is installed in the Master Gate, and Gate Opener 2 is installed in the Slave Gate.
Alarm Lamp (optional)
The red wire of the alarm lamp should be inserted into either LAMP (#11) terminal, the white wire into the other one (#12).
Back-up Battery (optional)
The “24V+” of the battery should be wired to the BAT+ (#13) terminal, “24V-” should be wired to “BAT-” (#14) terminal.
Recommend strongly to use the controller LM118 (WA4004）to connect Battery with battery’s Terminal of control board if the battery is used as the primary power supply in system (such as SOL PLUS KIT). Please refer to the user manual of control LM118（WA4004）separated.
Photocell Beam System (PBS) (optional)
Use a 2-core cable to connect the “- ~” terminal of the photocell’s emitter to the “14” terminal, the “+ ~” terminal to the “9” terminal. Also the “- ~” and “+ ~” terminals of the photocell’s receiver should be connected to the “16” and “17” terminals in parallel.
Use another 2-core cable to connect the “COM” terminal of the receiver to the “17” terminal, the “NC” terminal to the “18” terminal.
Push Button (optional)
The red wire should be inserted into either O/S/C terminal, the white wire into the other one.
Loop Detector (optional)
First insert the LOOP DETECTOR BOARD into the CONTROL BOARD, and then connect the LOOP DETECTOR to the control board. Detailed instruction please refers to the manual instruction of LOOP DETECTOR separated.
Exit Wand (optional)
First insert the EXIT WAND BOARD into the CONTROL BOARD, and then connect the EXIT WAND to the control board. Detailed instruction please refers to the manual instruction of EXIT WAND separated.
The electric lock should be wired to the “LOCK” terminal.
External Receiver (optional)
The BROWN wire of the external receiver should be connected into the “19” terminal.
The BLACK wire of the external receiver should be connected into the “20” terminal.
The RED wire of the external receiver should be connected into the “9” terminal.
Wired Keypad (24VDC) (optional)
The RED wire of the wired keypad should be connected into the “9” terminal.
The BLACK wire of the wired keypad should be connected into the “14” terminal.
The WHITE wire of the wired keypad should be connected into the “19” terminal.
The BLUE wire of the wired keypad should be connected into the “20” terminal.

How to learn or erase the remote
Learn the remote
Press and release the learn button, the LED will display “Ln”, then press the key in the remote twice in 2 seconds, the LED will flash “Ln” for 4 seconds then back to “- -”. Now the remote has been learnt successfully.
WARNING: Activate the opener only when gate is in full view, free of obstruction and properly adjusted. No one should enter or leave gate area while gate is in motion. Do not allow children to operate push button or remote. Do not allow children to play near the door.Your swing gate opener receiver and remote control transmitter are set to a matching code. If you purchase additional remote controls, the gate opener must be programmed to accept the new remote code.
Erase all the remote codes
Press and hold the learn button until the LED display back to “- -”. Now all remote codes have been erased.
Caution: If you lose one of any remote control, please learn all other remote controls to have a new code for safety.
Setting of the Control Board
Press and hold the “FUNC” button for more than 4 seconds. The Digital Display will indicate “P1”. Gate opener is on the SINGLE/DUAL Gate setting. Press the “INC” and “DEC” buttons respectively to following modes:“01” shown in Digital Display, it is Single Actuator 1 (Gate 1) mode. “10” shown in Digital Display, it is Single Actuator 2 (Gate 2) mode. “11” shown in Digital Display, it is Dual actuator mode.Press the “FUNC” button to store the data when the single or dual gate is chosen. The Digital Display will indicate “P2”. Now single/dual gate set is finished.(Factory set is “11”)
Check again for completed and correct assembly of your swing gate opener and gate. Plug the Power Grounded Cord into the nearest AC outlet. The Digital Display on the Control Board will flash with “- -”. The unit is in standby.
Single/Dual Gate Set
Master/Slave Gate Set
When Digital Display indicates “P2”, the gate opener is on the Master/Slave Gate Setting. Press the “INC” and “DEC” Buttons respectively to follow modes:
“01” shown in Digital Display, which means Gate Opener 1 (right-hand side) as Master one
“10” shown in Digital Display, which means Gate Opener 2 (left-hand side) as Master one
Press the “FUNC” button to store the data when the master/slave gate is chosen. The Digital Display will indicate “P3”. Now Master/Slave Gate Set is finished.

Set the Open Interval between Master and Slave Gate
When the Digital Display indicates “P3”, the gate opener is on the Open Interval between Master/Slave Gate Setting.
The open interval can be adjusted by pressing the “INC” and “DEC” Buttons respectively. The Digital Display will show “0”-“9”, which indicates the interval time “0” means the Master and Slave gates open simultaneously. “1” means the Master Gate starts to open 1 second before Slave gate starts to open. Max. open interval is 9 seconds. Each time you press and release the “INC” button, the figure increases by 1, and the Master gate starts to open 1 more second earlier. Each time you press and release the “DEC” button, the figure decreases by 1, and the interval decreases by 1 second.
(Factory set is 3 seconds)
Press the “FUNC” button to store the data when the open interval is set. The Digital Display will indicate “P4”. Now Open Interval Set is finished.
Set the Close Interval between Master and Slave Gate
When the Digital Display indicates “P4”, the gate opener is on the Close Interval between Master/Slave Gate Setting.
The close interval can be adjusted by pressing the “INC” and “DEC” buttons respectively. The Digital Display will show “0”-“9”, which indicates the interval time ”0” means the Master and Slave gates open simultaneously. ”1” means the Slave Gate starts to close 1 second before Master gate starts to close. Maximum close interval is 9 seconds. Each time you press and release the “INC” button, the figure increases by 1, and the Slave gate starts to close 1 more second earlier. Adjust the Obstruction Sensitivity/Stall Force
When the Digital Display indicates “P5”, the gate opener is on the Stall Force Adjustment.
Without a properly installed safety reversal system, person (particularly small children) could be SERIOUSLY INJURED or KILLED by a closing gate.*Too much force on gate will interfere with proper operation of safety reversal system.*NEVER increase force beyond minimum amount required to close gate.*NEVER use force adjustments to compensate for a binding or sticking gate.* If one control (force or travel limits) is adjusted, the other control may also need adjustment.* After ANY adjustments are made, the safety reversal system MUST be tested. Gate MUST BE TESTED. Gate MUST reverse on contact with a rigid object.The opener is equipped with an obstruction sensing feature. If the gate encounters an obstruction the opener will automatically reverse direction and stop. Based on the length and weight of the gate it may be necessary to make force adjustments. The force adjustment should be high enough that small objects such as branches or wind will not cause nuisance interruptions but low enough to prevent serious injury to a person or a vehicle.
6-a Adjust Stall Force of Gate Opener 1
Now we adjust the stall force of gate 1
The stall force of gate opener1 is adjusted by pressing “INC” and “DEC” buttons respectively. The Digital Display will show “1”-“9” which indicates the stall force levels. “1” means the minimum force, and “9” is the maximum force. Each time you press and release the “INC” button, the figure increase by 1, and the force increases to a higher level. Each time you press and release the “DEC” button, the figure decreases by 1, and the force decreases to a lower level. Press “FUNC” to store the data. The Digital Display will indicate “P6”. Now stall force of gate opener 1 is finished.
(Factory set is Level 3)
6-b Adjust Stall Force of Gate Opener 2
When the Digital Display indicates “P6”.you can adjust force of gate opener 2.
Please perform the same procedure as gate opener 1 (6-a).
Press the “FUNC” button to store the data when stall force of gate opener 2 is set. Then “P7” will be shown on the Digital Display.
NOTE: You may need to increase the stall force in cold weather due to increased resistance from gate hinges. The gate opener’s opening/closing force is adjusted automatically according to stall force adjustment.
Adjust the Max Motor Running Time (MRT) of the MOTOR for gate opener
The maximum running time of the MOTOR can be set to make the motor stop running after a specified period even if the limit switch is invalid or the clutch is detached.
7-a. Adjust the MRT of MOTOR1
When the Digital Display indicates “P7”, you can adjust the MRT of MOTOR1.
The MRT of MOTOR1 is adjusted by pressing “INC” and “DEC” buttons respectively. The Digital Display will show “01”-“50” which indicates the MRT of MOTOR1 from 1 to 50 seconds.
You can hold pressing the “INC” or “DEC” button for more than 1 second to speed up the setting. Press the “FUNC” button to store the data when you finish setting. The Digital Display will indicate “P8”.
(Factory default setting is “40” seconds)
7-b. Adjust the MRT of MOTOR2
When the Digital Display indicates “P8”, you can adjust the MRT of MOTOR2.
Please perform the same procedure as adjusting MOTOR1 (7-a).
Press the “FUNC” button to store the data when you finish setting. The Digital Display will indicate “P9”. Now MOTOR2 adjustment is finished.
Set the Safety Photocell Beam System (PBS) (Optional)
When the Digital Display indicates “P9”, the gate opener enters PBS set mode.
You can press and release the “INC” or “DEC” button to set or shut off the PBS function. The Digital Display indicates “11”, the PBS is available. The Digital Display indicates “00”, the PBS is null.
Note: If the “11” is be set, the gate opener won’t work until the PBS system is equipped. The PBS system works only when gate opener is closing. The gate opener will return to its open position when the obstruction blocks the beam from photo eye.
Press the “FUNC” button to store the data when the PBS is set. The Digital Display will indicate “PA”.
(Factory set is “00”)
Set the Automatic Closing Time
When the Digital Display indicates “PA”, the gate opener enters into the setting of automatic closing time mode. Press and release the “INC” or “DEC” button, the Digital Display will show a “01”-“99” which indicates the current automatic closing time. The minimum time is 1 second, 99 seconds maximum. Each time you press and release the “INC” button, the figure increases by 1, and the timing increases by 1 second. Each time you press and release the “DEC” button, the figure decreases by 1, and the timing decreases by 1 second. When the timing is “00”, the automatic closing function is shut off and the gate will stay open.
(Factory set is 60 seconds)
Press the “FUNC” button to store the data when the desired automatic closing time is set. The Digital Display will indicate “Pb”
Set the Period of Soft Start
When the Digital Display indicates “Pb”, the gate opener is ready for setting period of soft start.
You can press the “INC” or “DEC” button to set the period of soft start. There is 1-9 seconds available in setting. Press the “FUNC” button to store the data when the period is set. The Digital Display will indicate “PC”.
(Factory set is 3 seconds)
Set the Fast Running Period (FRP) to Achieve Soft Stop Function (SPP)
When the Digital Display indicates “PC”, the Fast Running Period for opening or closing gate is adjustable by pressing “INC” and “DEC” buttons respectively, and the Soft Stop Function is achieved simultaneously.
The Soft Stop means the gate opener runs at slow speed during the last period before the gate completely closes. The Soft Stop Period is unavailable by direct adjust but available through adjusting the Fast Running Period.
There are two running speeds designed in program, i.e. Fast Running Speed and Soft Running Speed. The Fast Running Period is adjustable from 1 to 28 sec. Factory default setting is 15 sec.
Since the GATE OPENING OR CLOSING RUNING PERIOD (GRP) = SOFT START PERIOD (STP) + FAST RUNNING PERIOD (FRP) + SOFT STOP PERIOD (SPP), the SPP could be extended by shortening the FRP when the GRP and STP are fixed. In other words, SPP = GRP–STP–FRP.
Similarly, the Soft Stop Period (SPP) can be shortened through extending the Fast Running Period (FPP).
E.g. When the Soft Start Period (STP) is set at 3 sec, and the GRP is 23 sec, how can we get 4 sec of Soft Stop Period (SPP) to meet the requirement? The answer is clear, i.e. we may set the Fast Running Period (FRP) at 16 sec (23 – 3 – 4 =16 sec).
Return to Factory Set
When the Digital Display indicates “Pd”, press and release the “INC” or “DEC” button. All data will return to factory set, the Digital Display indicates “dF”.
If all of data is set and no other change needed, press “FUNC” Button. “- -” appears on the Digital Display, and the opener enters standby mode.

The left image on Digital Display symbolizes motor of gate opener 1 when the gate opener is running. The right image on Digital Display symbolizes motor of gate opener 2.
When the motor is run to gate -open direction or gate -close direction, the image on Digital Display indicates “n” or “u” respectively.
When the motor is not running, the Digital Display indicates “- -”.
When Gate Opener 2 is set as Master gate (i.e. when “10” indicated at P2 set mode in the Control Board), the Digital Display flashes “-n” before the gate completely opens and closes.
Adjusting the Limit Switch
Adjusting the Limit Switch of Actuator 1
The position of Limit Switch A was fixed in factory, do not adjust it again.
Plug on the power to running gate opener, use a screwdriver to loose the screw of Limit Switch B, slide Limit Switch B to the desired closed position and fix it.
Limit setting for Gate 1 is finished now.
NOTE: Always place the magnetic ring between the Limit Switch A and B.
Adjusting the Limit Switch of Actuator 2
The position of Limit Switch C was fixed in factory, do not adjust it again.
Use a screwdriver to loose the screw of Limit Switch D, slide Limit Switch D to the desired closed position and fix it.
Limit setting for Gate 2 is finished.
NOTE: Always place the magnetic ring
between the Limit Switch C and D.
NOTE: The magnetic ring in the moving rod can be manually placed between both Limit Switches in each actuator. See Page 24 Emergency Release.
How to Operate
The user may operate the opener once all adjustment setting is finished.
With the gate in its closed position, press and release the remote control, the gate will move to the programmed opening position and stop.
With the gate in its opened position, press and release the remote control, the gate will move to the programmed closing position and stop.
While the gate is moving, press and release the remote control, the gate will stop moving immediately. The next command from the remote will reverse the gate direction and the gate will stop at its programmed opening/closing position.
The gate will stop in case of obstruction during opening. The command from the remote control will reverse the gate direction and the gate will stop at its programmed closing position.
The gate will reverse in case of obstruction or stall force during closing, and it will move to the programmed opening position.
NOTE: The Obstruction Sensitivity /Stall Force is adjustable in 9 levels.
In case of the system failure or power cut-off, the gate can be manually opened.Open the plug of the release hole, Insert the release key inside the hole located on the top of actuator body, and then turn clockwise 90°, Motors shall be released. The inverse operation restores the gate automation.
Installation for Push-to-Open Gates
In a Push-to-Open installation, gate opens out from the property. A Push-To-Open Bracket (PSO part) is required to be used for each gate. The gate is in the closed position during the opener is installed.Step 1Place the PSO bracket between the two post brackets. Insert the M10x30 bolt through the center hole of the post bracket and PSO bracket as shown. Place a ￠10 washer , ￠10 lock washer and M10 nut on the bottom of the bolt and hand tighten.
Ensure the gate does not open into public areas.
Step 2Attach the gate bracket and post bracket assembly to the opener by inserting a clevis pin. Secure the clevis pins using the hairpin clips.
With the gate in closed position and with the opener in their retracted position, place the opener with the gate bracket and post bracket assembly on to the gate post and the gate. Position the gate bracket and the post bracket assembly so that the gate opener is level with the horizontal cross member of the gate. While holding the opener in the desired level position, temporarily secure with two C-clamps.
Step 4 to Step 9Repeat the Step 4-9 in P 13-14.
Step 10The motors’ power wires and limit wires connection by “Push to Open” is different from the connection by “Pull to Open”. So motor 1 and motor 2 wires should be connected to the control box as the instruction in the right, not according to the instructions in Page 17.The black wire should be inserted into the Motor+ terminal, the red wire should be inserted into the Motor- terminal, the yellow wire into ULT1 terminal, the blue wire into DLT1 terminal and the green wire is still into COM terminal.
Warning: Disconnect power before servicing.
Using a clean, dry cloth, wipe the gate opener shaft, and then apply a silicone spray to reduce its friction. In cold climates where temperatures reach 1°C (30°F) or less, spray silicone on the actuator every 4~6 weeks to prevent freeze up.
Regularly check gate hinges to make sure gate is swinging smoothly and freely. Grease hinges if needed.
Check your installation periodically, as hardware and posts will shift. Brackets may need to be adjusted or hardware may need to be tightened.
Maintain the area around your gate. Keep the areas free of objects that can prevent the gate swinging freely.
Inspection and service should always be performed anytime a malfunction is observed or suspected.
It is suggested that while at the site voltage readings be taken at the operator. Using a Digital Voltmeter, verify that the incoming voltage to the opener it is within ten percent of the opener’s rating.
Refer to Page 21 for instructions on how to check gate force and sensitivity adjustments.
Opener does not run. Digital Display indicator is not on.
Check if all motor are properly connected and color coded. Make sure the AC input is connected.
Check if the fuse in control board is bad.
Opener powers up but does not run.
Arm cable loose or disconnected. Verify that all of the wires going to the arm are secure and that the connector is properly mated to the header.
Arm is incorrectly installed. Disconnect the motor housing from the arm and verify that the arm moves freely.
Gate is excessively heavy or hinges are bad. Verify that the gate is within the ratings for this product. Disconnect the arms and verify that both gates swing easily. Lubricate or replace hinges as necessary.
Bad control board. Call technical support for help with replacement parts.
Gate stops immediately after it starts moving.
Obstruction sensed. Check safety devices and gate for obstructions.
Force set too low. Adjust FORCE setting until gate completes a full open/close cycle without stop. The force setting may need to be adjusted in cold weather, as the gate will not move freely.
Check if the MRT period is too short. Refer to page 21.
Gate opens but does not close.
Photocell (PBS) is set in Control Board but is not equipped (optional). Please cancel the PBS set. Refer to page 22.
Obstruction blocking close photo eyes, Check eyes for alignment and verify all connections and operation for safety devices.
Gate ignores the limit switches
Check that the limit switch is not faulty
Check that wires to the limit switch are not shorted.
Ensure that the motor cable is away from sources of electrical interference, such as electric fences, power lines etc.
Gate opens, closes or stops on its own
Ensure that the key for manual release is in the lock position.
Carefully mark the glass fence line with the string line on the floor and also the position of the gate should be determined before you purchase the glass.
Calculate number of glass panels required keeping reasonably gap between the 2 glass around 20 to 50 mm. The gap can be increased up to but no more than 100mm.
Check the glass meets the Australian Standards and should have stamp on the bottom of the glass.
Now each glass will have 2 spigots up to 1.5m glass and anything over 1.6m glass should have 3 spigots attached to the glass.
Each spigot should be clamped on to glass at 25% of total length from either end and if 3 spigots then it should be 20% on either end and one in the middle.
Mark the position of the holes for core drilling very precisely in a straight line. After marking use 65dia core drill bit and core drill all the holes from 100mm to 125mm deep and keep the holes dry ready to install the fence panels.
Put glass on top of trestles and put the spigots on to the glass, tighten it and drop the spigots with the glass into the hole keeping a desired spacer underneath the glass. Hold the glass in level position by bracing with the timber and pour grout in it. Remember buy a proper grout for this job, not the one Bunnings sell. Come to us we will show what is a proper grout for doing glass job. After about 15 mins the grout will go hard after pouring in the holes
Grout should be a free running paste solution and should be easily poured into the holes with funnel or cut one coke bottle from the bottom and keep the mouth.
We suggest you should go to the other end of the glass fence panel and install it similarly you have installed the first panel.
After both the glass panels are hard and dry you should run a string line very tight on top of the glass to see the straight line of glass pool fence.
Now install all the fixed panels and including the hinge panel as well keeping a recommended gap for the gate.
Depending upon the type of hinges you are using whether Hydraulic hinges or spring loaded hinges the gap in between the 2 panels will change. You need to make sure the 2 panels beside the gate are 100% level and the gap is right.
Now install the hinges first to the gate and mount straight on to the hinge panel.
Install your latch as per the instructions attached by the manufacturer
Remember the gate has to be open outside the pool area.
No objects should be near the pool area so kids can climb and jump into the pool.
There should be proper instructions attached near the pool area as safety instructions.
Clean the glass at the end of the job and Enjoy your view.
Frameless Glass Fencing with Spigots
2205 grade Spigots core drill into concrete pavers
1) First thing you need to read council requirements their specification regarding Pool fence. This report will explain you about positioning of fence and the type of fence that is required to be installed.
2) Before you plan your fence please make sure you have checked your underground services such as pipes for Telephone, water, power and Gas.
INSTALLATION GUIE FOR POOL FENCE
1) Set up for pegs:
First thing you need to set up pegs for installation. Knock pegs about 500mm past where you want the fence to Start and finish. Now run the string line in between the 2 pegs about 200mm above the ground tight enough so that it does not sag in the middle or bend when its windy. Usually its recommended to use the stringline no more than 20m in one go so as to keep the string line as straight as possible. For stretches over 20m use small pegs in the middle to keep the string line straight.
2) Dig your first hole
Mark your first hole right vertically down with the help of level and mark the post position (depending upon the size of post you are using) on one side of the string line. However mark with marking paint the circle. Dig your hole with the twin shovel first to get the hole position right and use 200mm diameter orga to dig about 550mm. Clean the hole completely so that there is no dirt inside the hole. Now stand your first post right in the middle of the hole and level is so that the post just touches the stringline rather stay 1mm away from the string line so that the post does not push the stringline. Make sure the post face is parallel with the stringline and one person is holding the post and other one is ready to pour concrete. Use premix bags of concrete to mix it before hand in a wheel barrow so that it’s ready to pour into the whole. While pouring concrete into the hole make sure the post does not move. Concrete should be poured right up to the top of the whole unless if it’s a grassy area you want to leave some space for the dirt to put after when the concrete is dry so that your grass can grow around the post. Make sure your post is at least 1300mm high above the ground for leveled ground. This will give you 70mm space in the bottom of the panel + 1200mm for the fence panel + 30mm post can stay above the fence panel.
3) Dig rest of your holes
Check the size of the panel first before you dig second hole. Add about 5-10mm in the panels to get gap in between the 2 posts. Now carefully plan all your panels how many panels and how many posts are going to be dug for your fence. Check if there is any panel in the end you need to cut to fit in between the marks designated for pool fence to. Decide if the off cut panel the last panel you want in the beginning, middle or in the end. Then you should start making the rest of the holes. Usually the panels should be 2390 to keep exact gap in between the 2 posts 2400mm. Mark the next hole 2400mm + half the size of post. (If 50mm post then marking should be 2425mm to get the centre of the hole) and post hole shall be dug in the same way the first hole is being dug. Make sure the post should be just 1mm from the stringline and plumb and gap in between the 2 posts is 2400 and the post is 1300mm above the ground level then you should pour the concrete for the next hole as well.
Once all the posts are set into the concrete you should leave them for a day or so that they can get set and hard enough for the panels to be put on.
4) Panels ready to be installed on a level ground
Usually you need 5/16” or 8mm Hex magnetic bit to start installing the fence panels. Use Makita Impact driver Battery drill to screw the brackets. However please keep in mind that you cannot drill too fast and overturn the self drilling screws that you lose the thread on the post. We recommend that you should take the post the part it has to go into the ground and practice few times to drill screws with the screw machine. Now hold the bracket and place it on the post 30mm below from the top of the post and fix the with 2 screws. Now insert the rest of the 3 brackets on to the panels and insert the panel into the bracket that is being fixed on the posts already, now hold the top bracket on the other side of the fence panel and move up and down to make the panel level. Once level then fix the bracket with the self drilling screws. Fix the bottom screws as well on both sides. Please don’t forget to lock the panel with these 4 brackets by putting the third screw on each bracket. Usually the third screw on two top brackets will be put on from the bottom of the bracket and bottom brackets will be from inside from the side. This way the panel will not rattle in the between the 2 posts and will be very securely attached to the posts. If you do not see no third hole on the bracket you need to worry as the screws you are putting in will drill the holes by themselves. Likewise you should keep installing the rest of the panels. This is all OK for a level ground but if it’s a sloping ground please refer the next paragraph what you should be doing.
5) Installation of posts on a Sloping ground
Everything is same as for a level ground except when it comes to a sloping ground you need to find out how much is the drop in between the 2 posts and that’s how the next post where the drop is should be longer by that much as much as the drop is. However keeping in mind that the maximum gap allowed anywhere in the fence is no more than 100mm. So therefore you need to drop the panel from one side down to keep the gap on the other side less than 100mm. So remember on a sloping ground all the posts heights cannot be the same they will vary according to your slope. Sometimes if you want to expedite the installation it is always good to buy longer post and keep posts taller than the required height and after installation of panels you can cut the post to required height.
6) Installation of panels on a sloping ground
Start from one end the first panel exactly the same way as on a level ground. Next panels shall be stepped down or step up (If stepped up then the first post should be higher) as you install the rest of the panels however it is very important to keep the height
7) Installing the gate
By law the pool need to be open outside of the pool area so both Hinges and the lock will be fitted from outside. Now please mark where the gate position will be the fix one side longer post and other side smaller post meaning hinge side post need to be 1.3m above the ground and the lock side the post will be 1.5m above the ground. You need to be careful in deciding gate opening left to right or from right to left. It is very important to keep a clear gap in between the 2 posts 996mm for a gate width of 970mm. Hinges should be put on to the gate first depending which side the gate is going to be opened and the gap in between the 2 hinges should be more than 900mm and the bottom hinge must be fitted with the cone provided with the hinges. Make sure the adjustment for the hinge for tension should be on the top side so that these can be adjusted for the tension. Now it’s time to hang the gate to the posts keeping 12mm gap between hinge and the posts and consistent gap throughout on the hinge side. Clamp the hinges and secure with the screws so that the gate swings freely. Now fit the lock as per the instructions provided with the lock. Make sure long top pull lock sits on the gate post is at least 300mm higher than the gate height. The height for the top pull by law should be 1500mm above the ground. 8) Finishing up the Pool Fence installation
Do the following to finish off your fence:
1) Cut the posts that if they are sticking out more than the fence height.
2) Insert caps on top of the posts to finish of their look.
3) Touch up with spray can if any scratches or screws
4) Finally wash and wipe with the cloth
5) Wash the floor and pick up and debris on the floor.
6) It’s all ready to be used and secured.
9) Our recommendations
1) We recommend the pool fence should be installed by a professional qualified pool fence installer. However if you think you can do it then you must know that you will be liable if not complying with the rules and regulations of council requirements as stated before that you need to check with the council for all requirements.
2) Wash the fence completely every 6 months and wipe with the cloth to keep it free from all salt and chlorine which will give you much longer life of your pool fence.
3) Use only Pool fence panels that are approved as per Australian Standards 1926.1 -2012 including posts, gates, lock and hinges. All pool fence panels look the same but always ask if they have the approval on the panels. If not then don’t buy and look for approved pool fence panels as per 2012 but not 2007 which has changed a lot.
4) Highly recommended NOT to use steel panels as these are not HD galvanised but these are simply pregal material covered with powder coating. These panels will rust within 6 months of installation.
5) Use self drilling screws and pre-painted.
6) Adjust the hinges for self closing the gate according to your wish.
